CU-Boulder Kicks Off Athletic Facilities Overhaul
BOULDER, Colo. — After a record-breaking year of private donations, the University of Colorado Boulder (CU-Boulder) broke ground on a $143 million athletics facility expansion on May 12. The project will include several new athletics buildings and upgrades to the university’s Folsom Field.


NEW YORK — NYU Langone Medical Center, which houses New York University’s School of Medicine, recently opened the new Ronald O.
Ann Poppen has been promoted to preconstruction manager for the California district of Sundt Construction Inc. Poppen joined Sundt in December 2013 as a preconstruction project manager on the San José State University Campus Village Phase II student housing project before being promoted to her new position.
Dr. Meria Carstarphen has been named the new superintendent of Atlantic Public Schools. Carstarphen most recently served as district superintendent of the Austin Independent School District in Austin, Texas, prior to which she was superintendent of Saint Paul Public Schools. Carstarphen also worked with public school systems in the District of Columbia, Tennessee and Ohio, and has taught at the middle school and elementary levels.
FT. KNOX, Ky. — Construction will begin next month on Kingsolver-Pierce Elementary School, a United States Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) 21st Century Education institution. The new school will replace and consolidate two older elementary schools, and will accommodate 635 students, grades PK-5.
SAN DIEGO — Construction on the newly renovated Storm and Nasatir Halls complex at San Diego State University (SDSU) was completed in time for the spring semester, with a grand opening celebration held on Feb. 21.
