Imagine a classroom where four or five groups of six students are working on projects. The teacher circulates about, providing information, direction, encouragement and reminders to stay on task to the groups. With so much going on at once, the need for classroom management is clear. To allow the teacher to direct learning for multiple groups all at the same time, learning materials must be organized and made available to students. This allows the students to access resources and use them independently — and frees the teacher to direct and instruct as needed.
