Renovation Defines Visitation Schools Heart, Mind
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – Major renovations and a 31,000-square-foot expansion project have been completed on Mendota Heights’ Salesian-run Visitation School. The two-phase project infused the more than 140-year-old institution with new life, while preserving and celebrating its rich history.


LA JOLLA, Calif. — The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) recently opened a new $113 million Health Sciences Biomedical Research Facility in La Jolla. The 196,000-square-foot building was designed to encourage collaboration between scientists in the region and worldwide.

SANTA ANA, Calif. — The Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) announced the launch of a capital campaign for a new state-of-the-art expansion. The new construction will be a first for the Santa Ana-based school, which to date has occupied repurposed commercial buildings.
ST. LOUIS — Though rainy weather impacted the November 2013 groundbreaking of the new Recreation and Wellness Center at the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL), the area’s harsh winter weather has not disrupted the facility’s overall construction schedule.
Eric Chang, LEED AP, has been promoted to associate vice president of HGA’s Los Angeles office. Chang was previously a project manager with the firm and has more than 15 years experience working on higher education and commercial projects. He holds a master’s degree in design studies from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Architecture from California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Chang joined the firm in 2001.
John Curtis, AIA, LEED AP, has been named a principal at New York-based architectural and design firm CetraRuddy. In his new role, Curtis will be responsible for the design delivery of buildings and communities demonstrating the highest level of design innovation, technical excellence and sophisticated project management.
