The Council Rock School District will save $1 million by refinancing three construction bonds from 1998 and 2003 totaling $21.9 million.

James McHugh Construction Co. has completed a $64 million renovation and expansion of Riverside Brookfield High School, McHugh officials announced, even adding eight classrooms to the project while keeping to the original construction budget.

The Board of Supervisors last night voted to support a Capital Improvement Program for the school system that includes the potential conversion of Belmont Ridge Middle School into a high school, a notion that gave some board members concerns, but many noted that the plan had time to be fully-vetted before a final decision is made to implement the project.

A local businessman is looking to build three homes at the former Third Ward School site at the head of Mechanic Street. Three equivalent dwelling units, or EDUs, were approved for construction at the site by the Bradford Sanitary Authority at its regular meeting.
