The Wyomissing School District plans to use classroom space at two local churches when construction starts at West Reading Elementary in January. Lease agreements have yet to be signed, but the district plans to move fifth-graders to St. James Church at Seventh and Penn avenues in West Reading.
Construction on a new gym at Boulder’s Bear Creek Elementary remains on track to start in June after Boulder Valley school board members agreed Tuesday to deny a request by a group of neighbors to halt the project.
WESTON The D.C. Everest Area School Board will hear presentations from a group opposed to the construction of a proposed biomass plant in Rothschild and presentations from the company that wants to build the plant at its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the D.C. Everest Administration Building, 6300 Alderson St., Weston.
The bond for repairs and upgrades, including $20 million for a new Joseph Gale Elementary and $36 million for Forest Grove High upgrades, will be on the November ballot.
Geraldine School will be closed again on Wednesday, April 28. DeKalb County Schools Superintendent, Charles Warren, says the school will remain closed for a third day because of utility issues. The issues include: construction om utility lines on Highway 52, and over 200 homes still without power in the community. No word yet if there will be school on Thursday.
OTHELLO Lutacaga Elementary School staff and students settled into the newly renovated and expanded facility this week. The Othello School District is hosting an open house for the public to view the facility on April 27 at 7 p.m. in Lutacagas gymnasium, located at 795 S. Seventh Ave.
