DLR Group has welcomed Burcin Moehring, FAIA, as Science + Technology Leader based in Seattle. Burcin will lead the advancement of best practices in the design of academic and research science facilities, supporting new ways of learning, teaching, and discovery.
In her new role at DLR Group, Burcin鈥檚 expertise in lab planning and design will provide clients with innovative, strategic concepts for state-of-the-art laboratories, with a special emphasis on incorporating advanced sustainable design concepts. She will also focus on designing spaces for team-based and discovery-based learning, interdisciplinary interaction, and teaching and research integration, as well as integrating the technology and flexibility needed for today鈥檚 evolving scientific environments.

Burcin鈥檚 career has also included many influential leadership positions with professional organizations including: the AIA Seattle鈥檚 Board of Directors; SCUP Juror / Facilities Planning Academy / Selection Committee for SCUP Conference Presentations; and President for the Pacific NW chapter of I2SL (International Institute of Sustainable Labs).
