Pradeep Sharma is the new provost of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Sharma has served as RISD’s acting provost since the beginning of 2014. Before coming to campus as dean of architecture and design in 2012, he was head of the Bath School of Art and Design at Bath Spa University in England, where he managed the school’s operations, finances, facilities, assessment and academic program development, as well as the student experience.

Dr. Dennis Rittle is the new president of Cowley College in Arkansas City, Kan. Rittle previously served as provost and executive vice president of learning at Ozarka College in Melbourne, Ark. He began his higher education career in 1995, earning a Ph.D. in organizational leadership with a major in human resource development from the School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship at Regent University.

She rejoins the firm from Arcturis, where she served as principal and design director for the past 15 years. McDonald succeeds Michael Nolan, senior vice president, who has relocated from St. Louis to assume a new role as director of interiors in HOK’s Chicago office while continuing to help guide the firm-wide interiors practice.

The Board of Trustees of New York University recently announced the appointment of Vice Chancellor Andrew Hamilton as the university’s 16th president. Hamilton — a noted chemist, Fellow of the Royal Society and former Provost of Yale — will take up his duties in January 2016. At Yale, Hamilton was also the Benjamin Silliman Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry.

Chapman currently serves as the associate superintendent of Shawnee Mission Unified School District in Shawnee Mission, Kan. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in French at Pepperdine University before receiving her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Central Missouri State University, as well as a teaching certificate.
