HGA Architects and Engineers announced the hiring of Kaveh Amirdelfan, AIA, LEED AP BD+C as the new associate vice president and principal at the firm’s Los Angeles office. In this new role, Amirdelfan will direct client relations and new business development for the arts, community and higher education practice group. Amirdelfan was previously a principal with DLR Group in Santa Monica, Calif., serving as that firm’s higher education sector leader.

This hybrid polymer sealant was designed for horizontal expansion joints in swimming pool decks, sidewalks and other applications. MANCHESTER, Mass. — A nearly 21,500-square-foot renovation and expansion of the Brookwood School in Manchester, Mass. was completed in late 2014 after just 18 months of construction. The project wrapped up three months ahead of schedule and came in under budget.
JACKSON, Mich. — Construction is underway on a new dormitory at Jackson College, while renovations at the school’s Bert Walker Hall are scheduled to start in May.
BEND, Ore. — Oregon State University-Cascades (OSU-Cascade) in Bend, Ore. recently received a $500,000 lead gift from Lee and Connie Kearney to support energy conservation efforts. The donation will position the university’s expanding campus to move toward net-zero energy use.
AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn University sports fans won’t be able to ignore the scoreboard come football season this fall. The university’s Board of Trustees recently approved construction of a 200-foot-wide scoreboard—the biggest in college football.
The scoreboard will cost an estimated $13.9 million to build and will measure 200-feet wide by 105-feet tall. The video board will take up roughly 10,830 square feet, more than Texas A&M’s recently installed 7,661-square-foot video board, currently the largest in college football.
Dr. Gillian Chapman is the new superintendent of Teton County School District No. 1 in Jackson, Wyo., and will replace outgoing Superintendent Pam Shea. Chapman currently serves as the associate superintendent of Shawnee Mission Unified School District in Shawnee Mission, Kan. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in French at Pepperdine University before receiving her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Central Missouri State University, as well as a teaching certificate.
