Construction delays are to blame for an Illinois school district not starting classes until after Labor Day. The old high school in Waterloo is being renovated to become the town’s new junior high, but the work isn’t going to be complete until September 7th.

The Springdale School District decided in June to propose a property tax increase to pay for new school construction. That tax election is set for September 21st, and now the school district is trying to get the word out to voters.
