Aquatic Facility Targets LEED Silver

SAN MATEO, Calif. — An educational building that opens out to a competition swimming pool is not the typical layout a person might expect to find in a high school setting.

At about $2.9 million, the repairs have cost significantly more than expected — early estimates ranged from $200,000 to $600,000.
The Willits school board has approved a plan to spend $18 million of bond and grant money on the district’s facility upgrade project. The plan calls for purchase of computers for every teacher in the district, and for every student from grade 6 to the senior year of high school.
