It’s less than a day away from the start of school for most area students but some buildings are not quite ready for class.

Construction on Fluvanna’s new high school is on track. Not everyone supports this costly venture, but it is putting many Fluvanna county citizens to work.

COVINGTON, Ky. – Covington Latin is finally getting an addition to the school, its first since 1941. The project will add 27,000 square feet, doubling the size of the school.

Construction of the new Garden City High School in the northeast part of town is just more than a quarter of the way complete, according to architects.

The Springfield Township Middle School and Erdenheim Elementary School construction projects are still on target to get kids back to school on time, Facilities Director Roy Johnson told the school board Tuesday.
