Soft Play LLC just introduced a new line of commercial playground equipment called Kids Corner. Designed for children ages 2 – 5 years, Kids Corner is suitable for small spaces in either indoor or outdoor applications.
An interactive musical playground experience can be created with the new colorful chimes from Playworld Systems. They can be easily added to existing play structures or areas, or be grouped with bells and drums-also from Playworld Systems-to create a separate music center. Three different chime sets provide six different tones and can be placed on panels or banners.
The chime banner displays one set, while the chime panel holds two or three sets and is an accessible activity.
Landscape Structures introduced the Conical Climber, a playground event that features real climbing-gym style handholds mounted on a flexible, high-strength PVC material. The Conical Climber provides a challenging rock climbing experience, and can be used with the PlayBooster and PlayShaper systems from Landscape Structures.
The reinforced PVC belt material used on the climbers is mounted to a tubular steel frame that is anchored to the ground. The movement of the flexible material within the frame provides an added challenge to climbers as they make their way to the top.

The products are designed to operate by use of a metered valve that can be set to run from 15 seconds to five minutes. Each Play Tower offers a unique distribution of water ranging from a circle waterfall to gentle spray to a strong spout. By combining these units, users can create a safe water play park. A new collection of activities, Galaxy Dynamic, is being offered by Kompan. The Pulsar, Dorado, Canopus, and Flexus are activities that create dynamic play areas for spinning, surfing, climbing, and rocking. The product is designed for ages 5-12 and, according to the company, provides a complex play environment that challenges minds and bodies.
Vibra-Whirl Ltd. is the producer and installer of sport surfaces, including Omni Track and Spiketop. The Omni latex all-weather track choices include the Omni System “B,” in which black rubber chips are bound together with a specially-formulated black rubber latex. A black polymeric coating is sprayed on the finish surface, resulting in an entirely black surface.
Poligras from Sports Technology International, a division of Advanced Polymer Technology, is a synthetic turf sports surfacing and is now available in two distinct formats, Poligras NF and Poligras 2000.
Poligras NF is a 2-inch-plus slit-film polyethylene fiber tufted into a dual layer of woven polypropylene and coated with a durable and stable polyurethane. Poligras 2000 is good for wet playing conditions, the company says, and consists of a 0.5-inch polypropylene fiber tufted into a double primary backing and coated with polyurethane.
